Building on the success of last year, the Lusaka Golf Club president Mr Rajnish Sharma hosted this year’s prestigious President’s Putter Tournament on 22 August 2015. It was followed by a formal black-tie gala dinner at the InterContinental Hotel, with Guest of Honour the Honourable Alexander Chikwanda. Mr Chikwanda is a Trustee of the Lusaka Golf Club.
Autoworld was proud to be associated with this event. The company sponsored the caddies’ t-shirts and caps, as well as some prizes including a small generator.
Despite having Joe Malanji, Africa Golf Congress president, on his team, Raj Sharma didn’t manage to win the coveted first prize. The President’s team came in at 7th place.
Many congratulations to the winners Bret Brannigan, Bertie Serfortein, Tom Ryan and Rick Foden. Jason Kazilimani, Tigger Foden, Guy Frazer and Kelvin Phiri scooped second place. And the first female team to appear on the winners list were Olivia Phiri, Towela Dodia, Fonz Lunat and Nik Patel who came 4th.
The President’s Putter Tournament is a major annual event that brings together golfers from across the country including Chief Executives and Directors of major corporate organisations, Senior Government leaders and prominent businessmen. Over 150 golfers participated in this year’s tournament.
